Hey! I'm Patrick, and I have a lot to say. I have...

- covered the Tribeca Film Festival, Maryland Film Festival, New/Next Film Festival, Camden International Film Festival, Noir City, and the Exhumed Films Horror-thon.
 - reviewed theatre in New York and London, touring cities, regional theatres, and the oldest African-American community theatre in the country.
 - written about everything from Broadway musicals to rock concerts to minor league baseball to reality dating shows to Dunkin' menu items.
 - hosted podcasts about Wes Anderson, childhood nostalgia, and the Boston Red Sox.

Frankie, tell Aunt Mary how many kids in your class say, "When I grow up, I want to be a drama critic!"

I was born in Roanoke, Virginia, where I obsessed over pop culture, acted in community theatre plays, and worked my first job at a movie theater. Aside from a brief stint in sunny southern California on my way to a B.A. in Theatre, I've lived in the mid-Atlantic my whole life, and I'm now proud to call Baltimore home. These days, I teach middle school English (I've received a few nominations for Baltimore City Teacher of the Year) and write about movies, tv, and theatre at my website Feature Presentation. When I'm not following the Boston Red Sox or walking my rescue mutt, I also find time to write and podcast about music, sports, and anything else I find interesting.

Pop art is about liking things.

My grandmother loved that classic phrase, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." That's easier said than done when I sit down to write a review, but I want to like whatever movie or play or series or album or book that I'm covering - that's so much more fun! But, most importantly, I'm here to help you thorough the content landscape we live in and tell you why something is (or isn't) worth your time and money. â€‹

Some things I like include The Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, AMC A-List, the Boston Red Sox, the Washington Capitals, the Baltimore Ravens, bluegrass and folk rock concerts, rewatching The Golden Girls, attending SABR meetings, tuning in to Saturday Night Live every week, researching defunct sports teams, trying to see every Shakespeare play (I'm at 24 of the 37, some of them are hard to find!), collecting physical media, drinking Vienna Lager, and anxiously awaiting regional theatre season announcements. I am willing and able to write or podcast about any of these things (and more!) for you.
